Good at some of what it says it does

I bought this to help me with dowel joints that I had never done before.

To some degree it was very good, but I found that it was simply not able to do some of what it is advertised to do, not for 6mm dowels in 16mm board anyway.

It was great for drilling accurate dowel holes in the 'end grain' of particlboard panels.

However, I could not get it to help me drill dowel holes in the face of particeboard panels to create 90 degree Ljoints, I had to free-hand those.

There were 2 thinks inhibiting the product from helping me:

1. The machine screw in the secondary clamping jig was too short to put the clamping mechanism in the 90 degree position. I could have overcome this with my own spring clamp or the like, but ...
2. The range of adjustment for the bushings in the main jig is too small. I could not put the bushing in the correct position to make the joint work. It appears the manufacturer prioritised being able to store both bushings in the device over functionality - fail.

One other thing I would have liked woud be allignment marks on the top and bottom of the bushings to make allingment easier.

I got the job done. I wish I could have used the device for the L joints. They might have looked better than they turned out.

I wouldn't recommend this product. There are much cheaper options if you just want to do edge holes.

Do not waste your time with this seller.
I kept this product as my experience was so bad I did not trust them enough even to return it despite it being the wrong pack missing the dowels and drills.
